Check availability of user name does not work

I have Wordpress 3.3.1 and CiviCRM 4.1.2 and the 'check availabilty' does not seem to do anything.

Is there a fix for this? Do I have something configured wrong?

Checked the forums but did not find any similar issues that were solved

might want to upgrade to 4.1.5 and see if it works

if it does not work in 4.1.5, would be great if you can investigate and help figure out what needs to be added to the WP integration to make this work. If you are not a developer, please consider hiring one to do the needful.

We need more WP+Civi developers to help make the integration a lot better and smoother
