Easy way to recreate custom fields on a new site?
August 01, 2012, 08:53:24 am
I am basically building a clone of an existing site that has a ton of custom fields. Is there an easy way to "import" those field definitions over, or do I get to recreate them one at a time?

(copying discussion from IRC in case others look at this post)
check the import and export scripts in bin/migrate
[09:13am] dgg: definitely test w/ your data as the scripts are "alpha / beta"

jmcclelland: unclejustin: i just worked on that exact task. I used drush and the civicrm api to accomplish the task.

Thanks David. I've chatting with Jamie in IRC about this. I'll update this post when I have a solution.

Update: I actually went around this a different way. I just took a dump of the custom fields tables and shoved them in using Sequel Pro direct. Worked like a champ.
