Hi all,

I am wondering if the event based PCPs have a donation feature that work similarly to the donation PCPs. Currently event PCPs let users join the event that the PCP is based on, but what about just donating to the event? Is that not possible?

The behavior is a "switch" based on the configured dropdown in the Configure Event -> Personal Campaign form, "Campaign Type" field. If you select "Contribution" - then user is directed from supporter's page to the selected online contribution form.

Since this is a binary choice, if you want "both options" - you could "work around" by sticking w/ default "Event" for Campaign Type and then including a link on the event info / event registration pages to a separate contribution page. You can also include an "open contribution" price set field for folks who are registering for the event. HTH

I do not have a drop down for the "Campaign Type" field. It is just text that says "Event". Am I missing something?

That's the field - but the field is set to read-only once you there are one or more PCP's created for the event (I think this is so as not to change behavior for existing PCP's created by supporters).
