February 28, 2008, 09:26:50 pm
Shalom!

Has the Hebrew translation been completed? I would be interested in using CivicCRM for my organization in Israel. Has the Hebrew translation actually been conmpleted? Does it work well? Are there other organizations actually using it? Are they satisfyed?

Thanks,

you might want to check: http://translations.civicrm.org/he_IL/

its has barely been started, so would be good for someone to jump in there and start translating :)

If it’s ok with you, the easiest approach is to go to register in our translations server and work on the Hebrew translation online; we put the updated translations from there into our repository on a weekly basis.
If you found the above helpful, please consider helping us in return – you can even steer CiviCRM’s future and help us extend CiviCRM in ways useful to you.

Hi guys,

I wasn't sure whether to start a new topic or reply here - now you now what my decision was - let me know if it was a wrong one in the terms of the forum ethics.

Anyway, I like the Civi community and believe in sharing and win-win collaboration.

I took the existing translated po files, transalted the rest to Hebrew with google and have been ever improving it over the past month (and will keep doing it as long as I use Civi)

I hate the idea of someone doing the same work that I've all ready done (and it takes time! :) ) - I need your help to decide what is the right way to share what I'm doing.

My updates are made on a weekly or even daily basis and I find it hard to synchronize the final results with the world.

Also, I've joined the po filess into a single one as it is a huge pain in the a** to maintain seperate files when there are so many updates to be made.

What do you suggest? How can I "join back into the main branch"?
Why keep seperate po files? i strongly recommend joining them into a single source file.

I believe, a good translation to hebrew (and basically to any language) will bring more fans and supporters to Civi, which is great!

Help me help us :)

Thanks,
Yosi

Hi,

To make it easier, can you register on the translation site (transiflex and ask to join the hebrew
group?

https://www.transifex.net/projects/p/civicrm/teams/

I am not sure what's the best way to upload your po, but sure that's described.
