Contribution Page Membership On Behalf of Individual

Logged in as one individual, is there a way to submit a membership signup contribution page on behalf of another individual, similar to how one can register another person for an event?

No, but the idea of gift memberships has been bantered around for a year or more.  Suggestion: if it is important to you to have this feature, try to offer seed funding for a MIH initiative.

Actually i think we have gone along way to providing this - will bump eileen to comment - may need some blogging time for our team but we have been sooo streeetched of late.
