Cannot e-mail contact (There are no Activites to display)

Hi there,

If I click the link 'Send email' from the contact overview, I get an error.

Url: /civicrm/contact/view/activity?atype=3&action=add&reset=1&cid=12345

I see the e-mail form in a flash, but in no-time it is hidden under the message 'There are no Activites to display. You can use the links above to schedule or record an activity.'

Strangly, if I select a contact from a search result (eg. Advanced Search) and select 'Send Email To Contacts' from the actions drop-down, it works fine. What could cause this behaviour?

Looks like you are using CiviCRM v2.0beta1, we have fixed this issue.  You can confirm this on demo.
Do consider upgrading to CiviCRM v2.0beta3.

Ok thanks,

I will do. Is 2.4 almost ready to be release (so can I wait for the next release) or should I upgrade to 2.3?

Usually depending on bug fixes, we release beta on every Wednesday. So you can expect beta4 coming Wednesday.
