Can I show user specific donation data on WordPress front-end?
August 10, 2012, 02:23:17 am
Before I take a dive into this program, I would like to know a couple of things about whether or not I can display user specific data.
Lets say Sallie G. signs up for our site. She then makes 2 donations and signs up for 4 events. Is it possible for her to see her registered events and previous donations through the front end? I really dislike having users go in to the admin panel. How would I do this, if it is possible?

Also, how resource intensive is this on WordPress? I've been running s2member for managing user access, and it's been seriously bogging down the server response.

Thank you in advance!

Hopefully someone else can give a more definitive answer, but I can say that while it's certainly possible to achieve this with a bit of custom coding using the CiviCRM API, I don't think any built in solution exists.

CiviCRM is resource intensive on any platform. I don't know s2member but most probably CiviCRM requires more server resources. The About CiviCRM page says:

CiviCRM is resource-intensive. We encourage users to consider Virtual Private Servers (VPS) OR (semi) dedicated hosting OR shared hosting from a host with experience hosting CiviCRM. Please review our Hosting provider information page for hosting options.

Hello noam_v_shalom,

I Checked this on the WordPress Demo site ( http://wordpress.demo.civicrm.org/ ) and it works well. All that would need to be done is creating a report from the Constituent Report (Detail) template with the necessary information selected (Event,Contribution amount,Contribution type, etc.). You have the ability to create a dashlet, to be displayed on the home page, that displays this deport's info.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Jason
