CRM-2751 - problem with upgrade to Beta 3
February 29, 2008, 12:46:52 pm
Hi there,

I just upgraded to beta 3 & it broke - seemingly because of the problem in CRM-2751. (I edited it but have another problem to find now) I know you only do releases once a week but this seems urgent as it means the download currently on sourceforge 'breaks' the drupal site

OK - the other problem I had with upgrading 2-3 (I just ran the SQL & copied the files across) was
[Sat Mar 01 10:00:28 2008] [error] [client 202.180.98.137] PHP Parse error:  syntax error, unexpected $end, expecting ',' or ')' in /var/www/html/files/civicrm/templates_c/en_US/en_US/%%06/069/0693F89E%%drupal.tpl.php on line 58, referer: http://classes.org.nz/?q=admin

I renamed the folder: /var/www/html/files/civicrm/templates_c/en_US to something else & the site worked again. Don't know what caused this

1. what url did u use that broke beta3 with the parse error? if that is a "common" url, we will do another release asap :)

2. in general for every release you need to remove all files under templates_c and also truncate your session table. This prevent potential conflicts between the new release and old data

my homepage was the url that broke.

NB for future reference (since I seem to have had to refer back to find this a few times) mysql string to truncate the sessions table is:

truncate`sessions`;

Oh sorry, the parse error - i.e. the one to do with templates_c/en_US/en_US stopped me accessing any civiCRM functions. The one relating to crm.api as per CRM-2751 meant I couldn't access Drupal either. It's the missing semi-colon
