Creating a Profile blocks access to users
August 14, 2012, 12:39:29 pm
Hello,
Our organization is a membership based organization, in which interested people can sign up to be a member on our website. The membership fees are currently linked to paypal, but on the website the only data we can collect is emails. I tried to add a profile to collect more information (name, address, etc) but doing so blocks users from even getting to the membership sign up. How can I collect more information from users that do not sign into the website? Currently when I add a profile users just get an error message, saying they do not have access to the site. I don't want users to log in--I just want to collect their information and membership fees.

I tried looking into the help books on CIVI, but I could not use any of the options suggested. I can't access profile options from my administration page, and I can't grant profile listings and forms permission to the anonymous role, because I don't have this option anywhere.

Thanks.

Can you expand on why you can't access the CiviCRM Profile Permissions on the Drupal Permissions page

I'm not sure why, I don't have that option, or at least I can't find it. I can edit post settings, content, and webforms, but that's it.

Suggest you go to demo - find the screens you need, then try those paths on your on site in case you are just not seeing things in your menu - in which case your menu may need rebuilding
