Can you create workflows like sending atomated emails etc?

Hi
Just wanted to know if its possible to created automated  workflows such as sending automated emails when a new Contact is created etc.

You can use Rules Integration if you are developing on a Drupal site

Thanks for your help.
So it only works with Drupal at the moment?
Are there any options for Joomla or Wordpress?
