Is there a canonical list of working payment processors?
August 15, 2012, 10:54:18 am
I'm not sure this is the place to ask this, but I'm wondering if there is a maintained list of payment processors that are known to work with a given CiviCRM version.  I can't find one.

The reason I ask is:
  • its useful information and, if present, should be easier to find
  • I have a request for hooking into 'Click & Pledge' but can't find anything about it in contemporary CiviCRM bumf

Click & Pledge (CnP) appears in the menu for configuring a payment processor, but it does not appear in this processor guide: http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC41/Payment+Processors.  The only thing I see about CnP in the CiviCRM Jira site is one from version 1.8, back in 2007 http://bit.ly/RQBxJo.   I don't see where its been tested or verified since.

Is the menu option a forgotten legacy from CiviCRMs gone by, or is it still viable?  It would be helpful if somebody could go somewhere and figure it out without having to open a CnP account to test it.  Maybe some sort of a per-version poll on what people are using.  It wouldn't be definitive, but it might help.

there is no definite canonical list, but the common ones: paypal, google, authorize.net seem well tested. The other payment processors are mainly community supported and maintained

The below sounds like a good idea. Would you be interested in spearheading this and doing the needed work / setup and get the community involved?

Sure, but not this week.  I'm not sure where to begin though.  This Confluence/Jira/Drupal hive is a bit of a puzzle to me, which is strange since that's what we're running.

See http://manual.clickandpledge.com/CiviCRM-Drupal.html for CiviCRM 4.1. It appears to work. :)

I believe payment processors not packaged with core should be listed at civicrm.org/extensions
