How to configure or remove the Recent Items Panel

My organization wants to know if we can turn off (or disable) the recent items part of the left panel.  Is there a file or location where this is controlled?  Also, if we wanted it to say "Just Updated" or "Recent Changes", what should we edit?

Don't know joomla - in Drupal it is a block that you configure on the Drupal side of things by setting which theme or pages/paths to show/not show on. hope that gives you some pointer - so in joomla it is probably not managed via the civicrm UI

I do believe there is a lack of Joomla experts on this forum. I also saw the original post, but had nothing to answer more than what petednz said. :(

So whereas we are of course an equal opportunity forum, we are a bit biased towards Drupal installs and Linux servers. :)
