Lots of Help with Joomla-Civi Profiles please...
August 17, 2012, 03:05:46 pm
Hey all!

I've been working most of the day to try and get a Member Directory up for our website using Civi.  I'm running it on Joomla.

I'm not sure where I'm going wrong.  I created a Profile that has searchable checked for the each of the fields.  I've added it to the menu.  Yet I'm constantly getting a gid= error.  This is driving me nuts.

Now I've been able to display things once someone has logged in such as their basic member info.  But I can't seem to create a search.

If anyone has a tutorial specific to Joomla that would be great!  Or if you could walk me through it.

Thanks in advance!

Mike

Hello Mike,

Go to Administer--> Customize Data and Screens--> Profiles. Select fields for your profile. Edit one of the fields, and make sure Visibility is set to public. Save it and repeat for the other fields in your profile.

I ran across this issue while researching an answer for another forum post. The default setting for a field's visibility is user and admin only.

Cheers,
Jason
