Member Contributions: Sporadic Problem of Successful Settlement, but No Receipt

Hello.  Have a strange problem.

Members are renewing through a contribution form. Civi (3.4.8) is using Authorize.net as the payment processor.

The credit card is successfully charged, but no membership receipt is forwarded to the Admin and the member's Memberships are NOT updated.

This issue only happens about 10% of the time; all other transactions work perfectly.

We changed servers thinking it was a performance (latency/time-out) issue.  Did not solve the problem.

Client says the issue only began a couple of weeks ago.  Authorize.net and ARB also appear to be working perfectly, too.

Any ideas?   I was thinking on completing an upgrade to 4.2 to see if that solves it.

Thanks for all the insight.

I recently upgraded Civi to 4.1.6 and am still experiencing this identical problem.

Sometimes, everything works perfect.   Other times, the only administrative receipt received by Admins is from the 3rd-party credit card processor - Authorize.   The contact's membership is not updated, nor does any communication come from the website for the administrator.

I upgraded to see if it would resolve it.

The hosting environment is a shared Linux environment.   Could it be the hosting environment?

Thanks!

Peter
