Having a problem with importing. My original import was using the skip feature. I do have custom fields. Originally I got the error described in CRM-9409. This happened even though I am using 4.1.5 which supposedly has fixed this problem
Then I did an import using Update. It gave me several hundred of the following error:

Notice: Undefined variable: newContact in CRM_Import_Parser_Contact->import() (line 691 of /home/xxxxx/public_html/contacts/sites/all/modules/civicrm/CRM/Import/Parser/Contact.php).

But it said that there were all imported.
However, they contacts WERE NOT IMPORTED.
Any clues?

Can you describe what fields are you importing? Better can you attach sample csv file here which fails import.

I solved my problem.

I was importing the display value of a radio button custom data value instead of the actual data value.
