Can you look in your server error log for any errors?

I am still struggling with this error. I've tried deleting cache tables from the database, removing the 'files' directory in wordpress, and setting permissions to 777 throughout - I still get this stall.
Another civicrm installation shows no errors. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

can you double check your apache / php / other logs

seems like there has to be some error message logged somewhere

I'm still working to debug this. Absolutely no error in any log - not apache log, not php log, not syslog.

What I have figured out (not sure if it helps) since last time is following:
- i managed to upgrade successfully from 4.1.3 to 4.1.5
- i rebuilt my schema as  per the wiki instructions
- i tried upgrading again to both 4.2.0 and then to 4.2.0, but still get the same 'non-error'.

I have figured out that when i click on upgrade the civicrm_queue_item table is created in the database. But no actual database upgrade seems to take place (no change in db version field in civicrm_domain table).

Any ideas? Would be happy to send over my db if you thought it would help.

/A

I am getting the same thing here... WordPress 3.4.2   CiviCRM upgrade from 4.2  to 4.2.2.   However,  I am new to this and am having an issue locating the logs either in the directory on at my hosting cpanel with SiteGround.
Thanks!

Anthony sent me this db. This DB upgraded for me without changes on my local install on 4.2

if i had to guess, there is some error occuring on the host that is not happening to us locally

I finally solved the issue by disabling all wordpress plugins, running the upgrade, and re-enabling.

Anthony did any of your plugins use jQuery or Javascript heavily, such as a slideshow or "lightbox" image popups?

I had this exact problem and my dashboard wasn't showing any data, I disabled all plugins and reenabled one-by-one, it appears Rimons Twitter Widget was the offending plugin. I couldn't set new contribution pages or anything else that used Ajax.

Now to sort out the rest.

Thanks
