How can I go about setting up a couple of contacts, give them memberships, and then stage those membership dates in such a way that I can generate a reminder to them?   I'm doing this in a test environment trying to see how to set it up properly and manually running the scheduled jobs.

I've tried to setup an expired user who is in the "Grace" state and one who will expire in under a month.  I've tried to setup reminders to notify a member 90/60/30 days prior to expiration as well as one that would notify after expiration.

Every time I run "Update Membership Statues & Send Renewal Reminders" the log shows 0 renewal reminders sent.   I've tried to run Set Membership reminder dates and it just completes successfully but none of the memberships show a reminder date.

If I try to run the "Sent Scheduled Reminders" I get the same result:  Success (1) -- but nothing is sent to the email addresses.

If I try to run "Send Scheduled Mailings" I get this in the log:

What is the right way to stage this so I can cause reminder emails to be sent to these dummy memberrships I've built out?   I'm hoping to move a Filemaker based system into CiviMember and I'd like to fully understand this and have it working before I go live.
