Installation Error
August 27, 2012, 12:06:47 pm
I have successfully installed CiviCRM 4.2 on Drupal 7. When I tried to enable the CiviCRM module, I get this error: "CiviCRM settings file does not exist. It should be created by CiviCRM install" When I click on the install link, I get there error messages:

"Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webadmin@kxxxxxxxxxx.de and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."

I will appreciate any hint.

Thanks,
Iwalewa

Note: webadmin@kxxxxxxxxxx.de is not the actual email address.

Thanks for the quick response. There is no such file. There is a default.settings.php.

So the installer failed. You must set that directory to be writeable and run it again. It shouldn't even have run without being able to write there actually.
