We need help with Joomla Multiste and CiviCRM for a Libertarian Organization
August 27, 2012, 08:30:56 pm
We have been developing a platform for Libertarian State affiliates as well as candidates.  We are about to launch and we unfortunately are re-thinking our strategy.  Currently, we are going to basically rolling out with stand alone installations of Joomla and Civi which will be connected with scripts thus creating a a network of db's.  The initial intent was to develop a full platform and launch 1 instance of Civi with multiple parent/child installations.

We are looking for someone who has achieved success with using Joomla 2.5 and Civi that has launched 1 main Civi DB and rolled out multiple sites that are all connected such as a political party, club, etc.

Please get back to me or if you could point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi pojunis,

I would suggest checking in with Polished Geek (http://www.polishedgeek.com).  I was happy to FINALLY find a place that would install Joomla, CiviCRM (and much more) as well as host it on well built and maintained servers.  They can even design custom Joomla extensions and integrations (they did a fabulous integration of JomSocial and CiviCRM to create a volunteer system for www.activategood.org).

They just finished doing a base installation and configuration of Joomla 2.5/CiviCRM 4.2 for my org.  They worked efficiently and answered all of my questions.  We didn't need data migration, but they'll do that too.

I highly recommend them if you're working in Joomla.
