The payment processor, Google Checkout, is giving an error when it tries to respond to my server with the payment information. 

We encountered an error trying to access your server at https-----my site----/sites/all/modules/civicrm/extern/googleNotify.php -- the error we got is Send failed with code: 401. Response body was: Failed to Get Basic Authentication Headers

• The CiviCRM Contribution is recorded on my server.
• The donor's money is taken by Google Wallet.
• My CiviCRM database is NOT updated to change the status of the contribution from pending to complete.

I have the latest CiviCRM software (4.2), and the latest Drupal (7.15). 

The server is Hostgator which is running PHP (5.3.15) as CGI/FastCGI.  Someone suggested that this might be cause for the error.  The only thing that I can think of is that the CiviCRM MYSQL database on my server was created long ago on an early version of CiviCRM, and that there is now some sort of conflict.

This problem has been going on since mid year 2011, and I've been manually updating CiviCRM transactions.

Does anyone have a suggestion to get this resolved?
