I will try both the template and copying code and let you know. Template was my first thought.

changing the template didn't fix it.  I'm trying to replace the core files, but that's taking FOREVER.

I copied all the core files from my working installation to the one that didn't work and still have the same error. No CC or billing info coming up  Any other ideas? I'm beginning to think my only option is to build a completely new site and copy my articles over manually. That is stupid. There HAS to be someone else dealing with this or something I can try.  It's clear that I know how to set this thing up because I can set it up for every site other than my own

Perhaps it's a Joomla plugin/module/component that is on this one site.

I haven't installed anything since it was working. Do you have a direction to point me in.  Here's what I know:

The cc/billing info is not pulled from the Authorize.net payment plugin bc it pops up BEFORE the user selects auth.net and it pops up even when paypal is selected as the default payment option.

It is pulling that from somewhere though bc when I go on this site...

The amount and email address come up like it does on my real site and then the rest of the fields just sort of "pop" up there.

Someone has to know how that works.

I'm afraid I don't know. The issue seems to be some difference between the bad site and the good site. You must determine what that difference is I think.

I gave up. Trashed my old site and built a clean site.  Installed it.  It works for 1time payments now. Recurring payments are hanging as pending for some reason.  That was a lot easier than trying to figure out what was going on. I'm running akeeba like 10x a day to backup progress incrementally.

I experienced this same problem today after upgrading from 4.1 to 4.2 yesterday.  I deleted all the files in my Drupal site under sites/default/civicrm/ConfigAndLog, and sites/default/civicrm/templates_c. I also removed the custom_templates directory path from civicrm/admin/setting/path?reset=1, saved, refreshed the form, then added my custom_templates directory back in the CiviCRM settings.  I'm not sure which one, or if all steps fixed the problem, or why, but it was definitely related to my templates.

That is so weird.  I wound up just rebuilding my site and starting over...hasn't happened again. Crossing my fingers.

I also had a report yesterday of a client who upgraded to 4.2 and had this error. Then he found he had customized templates and fixing those took care of the problem.

Mine never came back even when I set it to the default joomla template.

I had errors again after setting my custom templates. These are templates I've been using since CiviCRM 3.2, now I'm up to v4.2 so something must have changed between templates versions to cause this error for me.  I've switched back to the default CiviCRM templates, processed about 10 transactions this week, and have not had any trouble since with the default CiviCRM templates, so I'll leave it that way.

Same problem: Drupal 7.15, Civi 4.2.0

Testing with PayPal Standard; I initially had recurring payments enabled and was getting the following error on save:

Warning: strtolower() expects parameter 1 to be string, array given in CRM_Core_DAO::getFieldValue() (line 716 of sites/all/modules/civicrm/CRM/Core/DAO.php).

Disabling recurring payments got rid of the error, but at no time have I seen the credit card fields. I had one custom Event template, which I deleted - no change. I've deleted templates_c - no change. I haven't touched ConfigandLog.

Getting ready to launch, but SSL certificate not yet installed - there's nothing else that I can think of. Pretty major - any ideas? Help greatly appreciated!

Update: Fields appear using Dummy processor, so it looks to be a PayPal thing. Will investigate further and report back.

I had paypal in there too, so I concur that paypal might have been part of the problem
