All my billing and Credit Card fields disappeared!
August 29, 2012, 01:18:49 pm
So, I'm totally new to this and I had run a BUNCH of tests and my only problem was that recurring billing wasn't working.

I setup my authorize.net account, put the proper settings in the plugin and all of a sudden when someone goes to make a contribution, the only info it asks for is their email address. No CC info. No billing address. What in the world is going on?

I would REALLY appreciate some help.

BTW if I go ahead and try to submit anyway I get this error...
Fatal error: Call to a member function doDirectPayment() on a non-object in /home/mudmin/public_html/mudmin4/administrator/components/com_civicrm/civicrm/CRM/Contribute/BAO/Contribution/Utils.php on line 210

What is CRAZY is that everything worked and then it just stopped.

You didn't' change anything and suddenly it stopped working? Can you try making another contribution page to see if that will work?

Can you confirm that you have a Profile set up with the Name and Address fields you want collected?
If you were testing with eg PayPal standard, then it adds the creditcard and billing fields, other payment processors collect this info at a later point, so you need a profile to collect address etc

I'm not sure by what you mean have a "profile" setup.

I created a bunch of "contribution pages" and they all worked.  Then I changed my payment gateway from an Authorize.net compatible gateway to actual authorize.net and it no longer asks for payment or billing info. It even stopped asking for that info on my google checkout payment option. So weird. I even went through the hell of uninstalling and having my db screwed up from all the foreign key constraints (http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,25849.0.html)

So  Does anyone else have any ideas bc after reinstalling, it still isn't asking for any cc or billing info.  What's weird is that as a Noob I was able to figure out how to do this the first time and then it just stopped working

Ok...I finally figured out what you meant by profile, but no matter what I do, it never even ASKS for a credit card number.  All my transaction key/api info is correct, etc.  I'm just STUMPED. I've read the authorize.net setup guide for v4.2 end to end and it never even hints that you would need to do anything other than some basic setup.

I really don't know. Debugging ideas are turn off Paypal or try removing your auth.net payment processor from the system and then add it fresh.

Hershel...this is from a fresh install. I've tried paypal and auth.net both solo and together. NEVER asks me for any info

petednz  .... yes, I get that error, but my problem is that before that error comes up, it isn't even ASKING for credit card info.  Makes no sense to me at all.  So, I'm thinking that error is the fault of submitting a contribution with no CC info. Any ideas?

Hershel...this is from a fresh install.

Hmm. You wrote before:

Is that now not the case? Now it's a fresh install?

Please note that the errors Peter pointed out may actually be related to the lack of credit card fields. If something is not working, then the overall results of the system can be indeterminate.

So I did another install on another Joomla site on the same server and everything works perfectly. Any idea how to debug this one?

Copy the CiviCRM core code (in administrator/components/com_civicrm/civicrm I think) to make sure it's correct.

Aside from that, do you have any plugins on the non-working Joomla site? Or perhaps it's the template?

I installed CiviCrm. It worked. It crashed. I uninstalled. Completely deleted the civicrm tables from the db.

Reinstalled.

Setup the Auth.net plugin

Still no cc info.

Then I installed civicrm on ANOTHER site on the same server.

Setup the Auth.net on the other site

Works perfectly
