Deleted "home" from navigation menu -> edit menu screen doesn't work anymore
August 30, 2012, 05:44:15 am
I could reproduce this on the demo. Using CiviCRM 4.2, latest drupal.

administer -> customize data and screen -> navigation menu

right click and delete the "home" menu

reload the page. "home" is not deleted from the navigation menu. you cannot see anymore the menu tree, so you cannot edit/remove any of the present options. You can still add new voices to the menu, but, not seeing them in the tree, you cannot change order or edit them afterwards.

See screenshot attached. No matter if you reload the page, you still don't see the menu tree.

I tried to restore the original menu with

Code: [Select]
civicrm/menu/rebuild?reset=1
first I get the "Menu has been rebuilt" message, but I don't see any menu. if I reload the page, I don't see yet the original CiviCRM menu, but my previous menu, with Home, any other custom menu I added. But I still cannot see and edit the menu tree.

I understand there might me reasons for keeping "home" in the navigation menu (I actually didn't dislike it by itself, but rather the "drupal menu" option included that I couldn't remove), but still, I guess this might be a bug. Or am I missing something? any suggestion welcome.

thanks

g.

There was some js error that prevented loading of Navigation and is now fixed.
Since CMS related menus are dependent on "Home" menu, for now we are not allowing user to delete Home menu.
I have also fixed missing style / theme.

Thanks
Kurund
