Event confirmation e-mails
March 02, 2008, 11:39:22 am
This is a bit tricky to test on the sandbox as it concerns the e-mails but I confirmed someone's pending enrolment & got them to forward me the receipt and I noticed 3 things:

1) - the time shows as 72:00pm - I confirmed it at  :   February 29th, 2008 6:59 PM
2) it shows 'pending' - I changed the status to confirmed & recorded payment & triggered the receipt in the same transaction. I don't know about the complexities but from an end-user point of view you would want to be able to do this and have the confirmation say status was 'confirmed'
3) Ideally you could configure a GST/VAT number onto the confirmation. In the meantime can you point me to where I can edit the template?

Eileen,

ad 1) this was a bug and was fixed in rev13544.

ad 3) Could you elaborate on your GST/VAT idea? In the meantime: the template is templates/CRM/Contribute/Form/ReceiptMessageOffline.tpl

Thx,
m

Regarding the GST / VAT issue. We add GST in NZ. Some of our users are GST registered and can claim the GST back from the government (i.e. we are offering circus classes and some of them are professional performers so this becomes a work expense). If the VAT/ GST number showed up on the e-mail it would count as a legitimate GST receipt for them to use for tax purposes.

This could be accomplished either by saving the GST number into the system and including it on any invoices & receipts generated or by having a bit more ability to configure the text that goes on the e-mails that are generated. At the moment you can add text to the e-mail you are sending out but there isn't anywhere I could find to configure standard text that you would always like to include.

In the meantime I will probably edit the template to include a few details about our organisation (full name, GST number, address & possibly registered charity number)

rather than edit the template, you should customize it. That way your upgrades are relatively easy.

check: http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Customize+Built-in+and+Profile+Screens

the tpl to customize is: CRM/Contribute/Form/ReceiptMessageOffline.tpl

To some extent, this is a clean way of adding standard text, rather than having to make everything db driven :)

I was able to replicate Incorrect Registration Date in Email receipt. I have filed an issue in jira for this : http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-2806
