Community Developed Extensions???

Can someone please explain to me where to find the community developed extensions everyone is talking about I keep seeing people saying to go to the contribute tab but all I'm seeing is general info not a list of extensions, etc.

Extensions directory is here - http://civicrm.org/extensions

do you have some suggestions how to better promote it? Might be room in the main menu above if Professional Services could be shorter ;-)

I think so many people keep pointing people to civicrm.org/contribute

Personally, where it says....
Support your favorite "Make it Happen" campaign"
OR
Contribute to the project-at-large

I would put something along the lines of
You can also view other developer's contributions

Or something like that.  Thank you so much for your help!
