Your Personal Campaign Page for....
August 31, 2012, 08:54:32 am
We have a live site that spontaneously decided to send blank personal contribution page emails to all or most of the contacts in our db.

We don't use personal contribution pages, nor do we have any configured. PCP list is empty. (We do use events pages, event contributions, though)

We are now dealing with a few hundred people contacting us asking what this is about :/

Can anyone help us understand how the PCP mailing mechanism works, so that we might track down the offending scheduled job or glitch?

Email content as follows:
---------------------
"
Subject: Your Personal Campaign Page for

Dear supporter,

Thanks for creating a personal campaign page in support of ."

----------------------

Help much appreciated, Thanks!

-Derek

The content of that message if from the System Message Template "Personal Campaign Pages - Supporter Welcome". There should be no workflow where that template is loaded for 'bulk' mailing output - but it sounds like wires got crossed somehow :-(

Would help to know what other "bulk processing" jobs are being run on your site, especially if they are new / recently configured:
* Are you running any of the scripts in the bin directory via cron or manually from the command line?
* Are you using the Schedule Reminders feature? If so, what reminders have you configured?
* Are you running any scheduled Jobs? If so which ones?
* Are you using CiviMail to send bulk mailings? Any chance someone grabbed this template and "sent it out" as a mailing (a bit unlikely since it looks like the System Msg Templates aren't listed in the "Use Template" dropdown when creating CiviMail Mailing Content)
* Any other changes to the site (configuration, environment, recent upgrade - is this happening on your newly upgraded 4.2 site - or is the production site still running 4.1)?

Hi Dave,

Sorry for the delayed response! We put off debugging this further hoping that our upgrade from 4.1 to 4.2.1 would resolve this.

It did change the situation somewhat, but did not resolve it.

I just got (panicked) word that these emails are now going out upon event registration. AKA,  an individual registered at 7:50PM last night and they received the email at 7:51PM.

When before, the emails would be blank, now the body of the email contains an HTML formatted event registration confirmation.

The event in question does not have personal campaigns enabled, nor does it have email confirmations enabled, no scheduled reminders either.

Were are not currently running any automated scheduled jobs, and we are not using civimail or sending out bulk email in any way.

Email Subject is still : "Your Personal Campaign Page for" (nothing after the "for")

Content of emails in attached screenshot.

I'm at a loss as to how to further debug, could you lend me a hand perhaps?

Do you have any Drupal modules enabled that might be interacting with CiviCRM?

Have you checked for custom PHP code for CiviCRM installed on your site (e.g. possibly indicated by System Settings > Directories "Custom PHP Path Directory" being set)?
