The documentation at http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC42/Google+Checkout+Configuration appears to be out of date in the section named "Settings to process payments as donations". In particular, the problem is with the line which states:

In packages/Google/library/googlecart.php, change $this->base_url = $this->server_url."cws/v2/Merchant/" . to $this->base_url = $this->server_url."cws/v2/Donations/"

The syntax of that section of the file seems to have recently changed but the documentation has not kept up. What are the appropriate changes required within googlecart.php to switch from the Merchant URL to the Donation URL? And who should be notified to update the documentation?

That part was community contributed.

Did a quick check and seems it requires more research & testing on that part w.r.t new code / updates.

Have removed the section for now.

If you / somebody could do a research and document this, would be a good contribution
