When I log in as admin and go to this page:

http://<site.com>wp-admin/admin.php?page=CiviCRM&q=civicrm/upgrade&reset=1

I get this error:

You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.


I also tried a different URL I found:
http://<site.com>/wp-admin/admin.php?page=CiviCRM?page=CiviCRM&q=civicrm/admin/setting/updateConfigBackend&reset=1

this did not work as well.

This is happening at step 4 in the Wordpress upgrade document. I am at a stand-still until I can get this working.

Hey guys, I found a solution to this problem... well for me anyways :)

I was missing my civicrm.settings.php file in under wp-content/plugins/civicrm/

I copied it over from my backup and I was back in business. Hope this helps!

Hey guys, I have this file in my cicivrm directory on the server and still having the same problem. Anybody else find a solution?

Check your file and directory permissions.  When I upload files to my test server they get 'root' as the user and group.   I have to change it to the correct user for web access.

Update: This just happen to me a few minutes ago while I was upgrading my test server to 4.3.  This time it was the permission on the 'civicrm.settings.php' file.  The permissions got set to 'root' when I copied and pasted it from the backup of the civicrm 4.2.9 directory.
