Documentation mismatch(?) for compatibility of 4.2 with Drupal 6?
September 04, 2012, 12:28:25 pm
Hi,
Looking at the upgrade guide http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC42/Upgrade+Drupal+Sites+to+4.2+-+Drupal+6 it seems to indicate 4.2 is compatible with Drupal 6 and even says in one place "CiviCRM 4.2 has been built to run under Drupal 6", but I ran into problems and then noticed that at admin/build/modules it shows incompatible, and also at the install guide http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC42/Drupal+Installation+Guide+for+CiviCRM+4.2+-+Drupal+6 it says it's not officially supported.

So just wondering what the actual status is?

Hi - Thx for catching the discrepancy in the upgrade doc (fixed). 4.2 with Drupal 6 is "not officially supported". However a number of folks in the community are using it and informally supporting it by submitting fixes / patches as issues are found. Check w/ Eileen on IRC if you have a question about a specific D6 issue. If you're able to help w/ D6 support / fixes - that would certainly be appreciated!

Ok thanks for the clarification.

I've also updated http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC42/Installing+CiviCRM+from+subversion+%28SVN%29+repository with the extra step needed to make it work when using svn.
