Is CiviCRM Right for us
September 05, 2012, 09:33:19 am
Hi I am new here.  I have been research for Open Source CRMs and I found CiviCRM.

Could some of you let me know if CiviCRM software is right for us?

Here is what we want to use with it.
1.  We are a non-profit organization funded based on membership fees
2.  Members are not individuals but organizations, fees are due once a year
3.  We want to be able to generate invoice for membership fees using the system
4.  We have different type of members,  and we want to be able to associate different services to each type of members
5.  We want to keep a huge contact list of individuals. These individuals may belong one of our member organizations
7.   We are not planning to use this software for Internet pages generation. It will be an Intranet within our organization of
     less than 20 people.
8.  We have very skilled tech people to help us to install and management the system.

And that's all.  I was looking into Vtiger but I later found CiviCRM

Thank you all in advance.

Certainly sounds like it. All of your needs can be met with CiviCRM. One may need a bit of tweaking, but they can all be done.

Agree with Hershel, it should all be possible with CiviCRM. But you might have to tweak a little and build up your CiviCRM skillset :-) As you mention you have skilled technical people that should be no problem at all!

Hi I75

CiviCRM can certainly help you achieve those things out of the box.  Something to look out for is what "archive" you want for Invoices so that you can reprint them in future if you need to.

We generally recommend an install within Drupal, given it's longstanding access control flexibility and enhanced integration with CiviCRM.
