Documentation link on CiviCRM website fails
September 07, 2012, 01:41:28 am
The link to the CRMDOC on http://civicrm.org/participate/documentation links to http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC which always gives me a 'Page Not Found' error the first time I access it. If I navigate around the CRMDOC and then try again the link works. Something is not being set.

Ken - I added a trailing slash and also fixed another incorrect reference on that page. All links are working for me on Ffox and Chrome. Let me know if that fixes things for you. If not, let me know exactly which link / sentence is still not working.

Thanks, Dave. I still get the same behaviour, though.

On the page http://civicrm.org/participate/documentation there is a link to http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/ and when I click on that I get taken to http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC42/CiviCRM+Documentation;jsessionid=F6DFCB1AFB9608F43FC6768C067DF0F1

When I try it again, it works and I get taken to http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC42/CiviCRM+Documentation as expected. Also, if I edit the long URL and change the ';' to a '?' before the 'jsessionid' I get the desired behaviour.

I observe this in both Firefox 15.0 and Chromium 18.0 on Ubuntu 12.04

I'm not able to replicate (trying both logged in to wiki, and anonymous - and on Ffox and Chrome). However found some older forum posts which indicated that including the doc space home page in the link fixed this. So links on participate page now use:

http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/CiviCRM+Documentation

Can you try and see if that prevents the jsessionid junk?

That seems to have done the trick. Thanks, Dave!
