Simple question regarding the initial "Save & Send Test Email"
September 08, 2012, 05:28:11 pm
This is probably a really dumb question, but I am brand new to CiviCRM, and pretty inexperienced with PHP and MySQL.
Anyway, while setting up CiviCRM on WP, I was going through the Configuration Checklist when I got to the "Outbound Email" area.  I wanted to test the default mail() and clicked "Save and Send Test Email".  The email was successfully sent, but I noticed that my (the admin) email needed to be updated.  I updated the default email from within the WP Dashboard to the correct email address, and resent the test email, but it still sends to the previous (incorrect) email address.
My question is whether I need to take any additional steps, perhaps in the database itself, to reset the correct email address, or if perhaps it will update on it's own after a certain amount of time....it's been about a half hour and it still hasn't worked.
I'm just concerned because if the users/contacts information isn't updated correctly, and in a timely fashion, that would be a huge problem.
Thanks for any input on this.

Danielle

So, I manually went into phpMyAdmin and found the civicrm_email table and edited the email address to reflect the correct one.  It seems to have solved the problem for now, but if anyone knows of any problems I may run into having done this, please feel free to let me know!
