Hi,

Just had a chance to check out CiviEvents earlier today and I am encouraged by what I see.  It is certainly something that needs to be developed for the community and so am happy to see a strong candidate coming out bundled with CiviCRM. 

The sandbox we've got set up for this is here:
  http://drupal5.dev.openconcept.ca/civicrm/event/info?reset=1&id=1

That works fine for anonymous users.  However when you click on "mike's test event" and go here:
  http://drupal5.dev.openconcept.ca/civicrm/event/register?id=1&reset=1

I get this nasty error (CiviCRM errors are almost as cryptic as MySQL error messages btw):

Code: [Select]
Sorry. A non-recoverable error has occurred.

This profile is not configured for the requested action. Contact the site administrator if you need assistance.

Return to CiviCRM menu.

Anyways, it works just fine for an authorized user.  I've tried with the event public and private - same error seems to occur.  I've looked over the profile settings and they seem sane.  Any suggestions?

Mike:

You are using a profile in event registration to collect more data from a user

hence u need to enable "profile listings and forms" for anonymous users

the error message below is meant for an anonymous user and as such is a bit vague. Suggestions to make it more specific are welcome :)

I am getting this error.  How do I enable "profile listings and forms"  not seeing where to change this setting.

To answer my own question. goto Administer: Access Control: Make sure "profile listings and forms" is checked for anonymous user.  See discussion "The requested Profile (gid=2) is disabled... error trying to let anon user test"  Not the same problem, but I think it has the same solution.  Haha I'm a idiot.
