wordpress multi-site, restrict CiviCRM access
September 10, 2012, 07:32:03 am
I have asked my web developers to deploy CiviCRM as a Wordpress extension.

This has worked, but I think all users of every site in the Wordpress installation (there are several different sites) would be able to access my data, which I do not want.

So, question is, can I restrict access to the CiviCRM installation to just me?

thanks!

In WP, civicrm permissions are fairly weak and tied into the default WP roles

there is a Make It Happen to help improve this:

Thanks Lobo, helpful.

Are there no workarounds that would achieve the same thing, and available now/soon? If not, guess will have to wait  :(

Hello prateekbuch,

The permission system Necessary to do this in WordPress will be a part of v4.3., due out early next year. I would suggest in the mean time that you check out the online documentation covering ACLs and Permissions and play around with them on the  Drupal or Joomla demo site. They really aren't to difficult to use, and will allow you an incredible amount of control.

Cheers,
Jason
