deleting event registrants

According to this page of instructions http://book.civicrm.org/user/events/everyday-tasks, there should be an option to “delete registration” within the Events Dashboard. However, it’s not there. We just upgraded to 4.2.0 (from CiviCRM 4.1.2) in hopes of gaining this functionality, however we still do not have a delete option. What do we need to change in order to be able to delete an event registrant?

To follow up-- I looked at this site and it was a permissions issue and is now fixed.
