How do you change someone's 'legal name'?

I need to change the 'legal name' of someone on Civi but the edit mode doesn't allow me to do that. Is there any way to alter this as a front end user or does it have to be done elsewhere?  Thanks.

Are you talking about an org or ind? I didn't think individuals had a legal name?  If you somehow for a legal name on an individual I don't think you can edit it from the UI, you'll need to remove it from the database....

Thanks - the individuals who were imported in our original import have a legal name for some reason... so I guess we can just delete them all. Why didn't I think of that!
