Member Renewal not recorded but shows up on PayPal transaction report.

Hi there,

I have a Drupal 6 / civiCRM 3.4.5 site in my care that manages about 2000 members. We have member renewal pages and the site uses PayPal Standard to process renewals and event signups. The site has been online for about 2 years.

Today I received a rather excited call that one member had renewed in August, the payment shows up on the PayPal transaction but it doesn't show up in any way on the actual website. Is this something that has been noted to occur and is there some way I can pull up a report to see if I can look for other occurrences?
