Failed to connect to ssl://smtp.gmail.com:465

I am trying to use Google Apps SMTP for my Outbound Mail:

SMTP Server: ssl://smtp.gmail.com
SMTP Port : 465
Authenication: Yes

I use my GMail address and password but I always get:

Failed to connect to ssl://smtp.gmail.com:465 [SMTP: Failed to connect socket: Network is unreachable (code: -1, response: )]

when I Save & Send Test Email.

I don't understand "Network is unreachable" since I'm using GMail with no trouble at the same time. I can't find any additional info for that error message. Does anyone have additional trouble-shooting tips?

Did you ask your host? Perhaps they are blocking your connection.
