Reinstall to same version - DB Error: unknown error
September 16, 2012, 05:44:44 am
Hi! I'm posting here because most of these problems get solved with an upgrade. I cannot upgrade this Joomla instance to 2.5 yet and have to get it back working with v1.5. Here's the story.

My webhost had a bunch of VPSs melt last week. My Plesk 8.6 came back up clean so I had to restore from backup files. Moved the matching complete Joomla 1.5.26 and restored the MySQL dump. It started to work until the webhost did a server upgrade (from /CentOs 5.2/MySQL 5.1/PHP 5.1 to CentOs 5.8/MySQL 5.5/PHP 5.3) without telling me. Then CiviCRM 3.4.8 now keeps throwing error:
Code: [Select]
Sorry. A non-recoverable error has occurred.
DB Error: unknown error
Error Details

Return to home page.
Unfortunately, no Error Details. It's blank.
I have attempted to uninstall, delete template_c files, check sitekey in both settings files, then reinstall several times to no avail. I am wondering if when I did the database update utility that did something or not.
I made sure that the database and user had full grant privileges.

I don't see any other error messages in any logs at all unless there is some log I am missing on checking.

Can anyone help? I'd like to get this back up for business Monday.

Thanx in advance.

Okay getting a little closer. This is kinda like a server move as I am just placing the entire instance back into the same place as it was before. All the directory paths are the same. I then dropped all the tables and reimported the database. Made sure the user had all the privileges including GRANT.

Now the main CIviCRM dashboard does come up but as soon as I choose any item in the menu, it goes blank again to the same 500 error.

I am getting this 500 error in the server logs and don't really know where to research from here. Anyone got a clue?
