Question about using Groups in CiviCRM

I am new to using the forum. I am looking for some advice on using Groups. Specifically, I have two groups: "Group 1" and "Group 2." I would like to compare the two groups, and create a third group "Group 3," consisting of all of the contacts that appear in Group 1 but not Group 2.  Is there a straightforward way to do this?

Contact search: find all contacts in group 1
With results: add to group 3
Contact search: find all contacts in group 2
With results: remove from group 3

a slightly better solution might be to use the include / exclude custom search and create a smart group. check:

http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/contact/search/custom?csid=4&reset=1
