can't load contribution pages
September 19, 2012, 08:23:27 pm
We recently updated to CiviCRM 4.2 (and a newer version of Drupal). Ever since, when somebody attempts to open a contribution page to make a payment, they receive this error message even when cookies are enabled:

Sorry. A non-recoverable error has occurred.

We can't load the requested web page. This page requires cookies to be enabled in your browser settings. Please check this setting and enable cookies (if they are not enabled). Then try again. If this error persists, contact the site adminstrator for assistance.

Site Administrators: This error may indicate that users are accessing this page using a domain or URL other than the configured Base URL. EXAMPLE: Base URL is http://example.org, but some users are accessing the page via http://www.example.org or a domain alias like http://myotherexample.org.

Error type: Could not find a valid session key.

Return to home page.

Any advice? This is a big problem since we're trying to sell tickets online to our big annual fundraiser coming up very soon. Thanks.

quite a few forum posts on the below error. Might want  to search and check on some of the solutions. some of them include:

1. make sure you have the anon user record (uid = 0) in the drupal user table

2. ensure your host name is the same as mentioned in the error message

How do I add anon user record to Drupal user table?

(I've spent quite a few hours browsing both the CiviCRM and Drupal forums. I'm a complete tech idiot, but I'm all our nonprofit's got so I push on.)

Thanks!
