file system permission problems
September 20, 2012, 12:34:23 pm
hi Folks,

I recently upgraded from 4.1.5 to 4.2.0 and started having troubles with several scheduled tasks.  To narrow down the discussion, I'll just describe the fetch-bounces problems.

During the process off fetching bounces, the system creates several directories and then files to store the incoming information.  Prior to the upgrade, these directories were created with root:root ownership.  After the upgrade, they are created with www-data ownership.

The trouble is, the system doesn't have permission to create the directory and files with www-data ownership.  The fetch bounces processes fail.

when I manually go in and create the directories, assigning them root:root ownership, fetch bounces works just fine.

The next day, when new directories need to be created, it fails again.

Can someone point me in the right direction to fix this?  The same thing is happening with process new mail and with process reports.

Thanks,
/Rob
