autofiling errors - to do with charset conversion?
September 24, 2012, 06:20:53 am
Is this light at the end of the tunnel!!!

For months now we've been without the autofiling that we have grown to love...

Up until now we have just had this error -

Finished execution of Process Inbound Emails with result: Failure, Error message: Process Activities failed
Details

Parameters parsed (and passed to API method):
a:1:{s:7:"version";i:3;}

Full message:
Finished execution of Process Inbound Emails with result: Failure, Error message: Process Activities faile

BUT NOW (ta da!)

Notice: iconv() [function.iconv]: Wrong charset, conversion from `unicode-1-1-utf-7' to `utf-8' is not allowed in ezcMailCharsetConverter::convertToUTF8Iconv() (line 126 of <full path>civicrm/packages/ezc/Mail/src/internal/charset_convert.php

So...

How do I work out if this is just one message that can't be converted, or if there is some weirdety that has suddenly thrown all messages into utf-7?

Or does that mean something else?

Many thanks in quivering anticipation...

I've tried adding a rule to mac's mail client , which involved adding the Content-Type header field then setting this to contains charset=unicode-1-1-utf-7

and in fact to test it I also tried charset=UTF-8 since I have seen that in the raw source of some of the messages...

But the rule doesn't seem to work...

Got rid of that exciting error message - somehow stumbled into the UF-7 messages and deleted them - even processed some mails - but now it runs without any specific error messages and without processing anything - back to square one.

There are a few folks @ the sprint at Butcombe Farm near Bristol (who are leaving tomorrow @ 1:00 pm)

http://civicrm.org/civicrm/event/info?reset=1&id=228

You could potentially attend the sprint tomorrow and get kurund and/or coleman to take a look at it with you and help isolate and fix the issue.

i suspect that someone will need to basically step thru and figure out whats happening and why.

Thanks Lobo - unfortunately I have work commitments  :(

I'll have another go at getting remote debugging working one weekend.
