Expose Organisation fields with webform?
October 02, 2012, 12:27:03 pm
Drupal 6 / Civi 4.22
Im using Webform successfully to collect data from users. But how do I expose existing data from Organisation contact types so that users can check the information and edit it?

So you add a second contact on the civicrm tab - and set that to show as an existing contact - and set it to have whichever relationships you want

then on the webform tab, on the Contact 2 component you would configure that to have the Default set based on the relationships as per the above.

not sure that is enough but may help

Hi Pete - does that work for Drupal 6?  I can't find an "existing contact" setting....

ackk - sorry possibly not - came in with webform_civicrm 3.x which may only be D7 - may have to wait for coleman to pipe up with whether a D6 workaround exists.

You can autofill and update an existing organization (even in D6) but the question is, "which organization?"
The 3.x branch solves this question a lot better, as pete mentioned, by giving some options for selecting an existing contact such as by relationship.
In the 2.x branch, you need to pass the contact id via the url.
If you're using views to list the contacts, you can pretty easily create a link from the view to edit the contact in a webform.
Try asking your question on the new CiviCRM help site.
