Civicrm won't install on J 1.5.25 or J 2.5.7
October 03, 2012, 10:35:33 am
I have had Civi installed on two sites, one running 1.5.25 and the other on 2.5.7

For a complicated and boring reason, I had to uninstall CIVI on both systems.

Now whenever I try to re-install using the install manager, it chugs along for ages and then just goes back to the install page and does not install the program.

I have checked the database on the 2.5  version and it has not written any tables. I binned all the core files and folders for Joomla 2.5 and replaced them with a fresh install so I know there are no instances of CIVI anywhere. I have tried re-instaling 4.2.1 and 4.2.2 on the Joomla 2.5 version.

I have tried installing 3.4.8 and 3.4.7 as well as 3.2.5 on the Joomla 1.5.25 with no luck either. The old databse is still present with all data still intact. I want to re-install CIVI and use the existing data.

Can anyone please tell me why it won't install?

Many thanks

Hi there,

Thanks for the reply.

I have tried all 3 methods and get the same result.

Hi,
I am using the installation from the folder. However, I am getting an error as follows: the CiviCRM User Management is already exist. Actually, I already uninstall the CiviCRM manually, by deleting its all folders as it is said in Joomla+Installation+Guide+for+CiviCRM+4.1 documentation in CiviCRM's web site.

What should I do in order to install it?

Thanks.

don't worry about that message.
in v4.2 we altered the plugin so it will update and not send that message. but in 4.1 there were no changes to it, so if it doesn't reinstall the plugin, it's not a big deal. it won't impact the installation of the civi component.

Hi,

I tried installing the latest version of CiviCRM from the installation folder way. However, I got this following error: DB function does not sending reports. Something like that.

What should I do?

Thanks.
