Hi, I cannot find where to de activate  the mailing list memberships reminder email?

Not exactly sure which email you are referring to.  Do you mean the email that is sent out as part of the membership renewal process?

if so you can do that here: http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/admin/scheduleReminders?reset=1
or here (until 4.3): http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/admin/member/membershipType?action=update&id=1&reset=1

If you mean the double opt in for when someone subscribes to a group, you can do that here: http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/admin/setting/preferences/mailing?reset=1

or maybe you mean something else! let me know if this is helpful / if I answered your question :)

Hi There,
We added all our existing mailing list (around 800 emails) and the Civic system automatically sent everyone an email  that looked like this:

This is a reminder, sent out once a month, about your hawaiispace.com
mailing list memberships.  It includes your subscription info and how
to use it to change it or unsubscribe from a list.

You can visit the URLs to change your membership status or
configuration, including unsubscribing, setting digest-style delivery
or disabling delivery altogether (e.g., for a vacation), and so on.

In addition to the URL interfaces, you can also use email to make such
changes.  For more info, send a message to the '-request' address of
the list (for example, aerial-request@hawaiispace.com
) containing just
the word 'help' in the message body, and an email message will be sent
to you with instructions.

but I cannot see anyplace to de activate it, we are using the Wordpress Civic plugin.
I tried to click the links you sent but it said  that the pages couldnt be accessed, but i think theye were referring to Drupal?

Are you sure? Sorry, to clarify, do you mean CiviCRM? I'm not familiar with all of Wordpress's plugins.

I normally send people those links so they can see the pages I am referring to.  They were links to the CiviCRM demo site on Drupal.  You should log in to the CiviCRM demo site on Drupal to find them.

I imagine there are similar pages in Wordpress but the pages that you will view look quite similar and (see above) I'm not sure that will help you solve the problem. i.e. your email looks like it was sent from mailman.

Hi, thanks for your reply, yes its CiviCRM which is plugged into Wordpress.. I looked everywhere but still cant see where to de activate this auto mail that goes out to the whole list.. cheers, Jon

I tried to add on the url paths to our page but no luck:
hawaiispace.com/wp-content/plugins/civicrm/civicrm/

Just to clarify,

It looks to me like these messages are not coming from CiviCRM.  They are coming from a seperate programme called Mailman (http://www.gnu.org/software/mailman/index.html) which you probably have installed somewhere.
