Tracking Future Recurring Contributions
October 07, 2012, 09:46:21 am
It's been a journey but I've gotten our Contribution Page for our school's Annual Fund set up and everything's working with PayPal's recurring payments. There is one thing that isn't happening the way I had hoped. A lot of our parents make monthly donations. We'd like our campaign widget and dashboard to show all amounts that have been set up to happen in the future. Is this possible?

seems like the contribution page is not being set on the recurring contributions. for the short term, can you update the database and set the contribution_page_id in civicrm_contribution table to your annual fund campaign

For some strange reason we dont assign this for recurring contributions. i'm not sure why or the reasoning behind it. will check and follow up on this

Hi Lobo,

In the civicrm_contribution table, there is one entry for the recurring contribution (the one that has been completed). That already had the contribution_page_id set to the correct page id (7, in my case). I'm wondering about the other 10 installments that are yet to be made. They don't show up anywhere, so they don't get counted in the widget or dashboard. Though theoretically they can be canceled and not received, they have still been "pledged" (not in the CiviPledge sense but via recurring contributions). So our totals will appear lower in reaching our goals.

See attached for PHPMyAdmin screenshot, showing the one $140 entry that is the first of 11 for this recurring donation. The second donation is a one-time $3000 donation. Our totals are appearing as $3140 ($3000 + $140x1), I'm wondering if they can be altered to appear as $4540 ($3000 + $140x11).

Thanks for your help, and the sanity that Civi is bringing to CACS!
