A CiviCon in Australia gets my vote!
October 09, 2012, 06:27:17 pm
I have heard rumours that there might be a CiviCon and/or code/book sprint in Australia either before or after DrupalCon in Sydney in Feb 2012.

That is a great idea and I  am eagerly awaiting confirmation and details so that I can book my ticket to Sydney!  I wouldn't be able to help at a code sprint, but would love to be part of a book sprint.

Even cheap airfares to America or Europe are usually around $1700-$2000, and air transit time is 24hr or more each way.  For small not-for-profits on this side of the world that is a big ask.

Hi JoAnne - that's fantastic!

We're working on finalising the venue and hope to have more information out early next week.

I'd be interested in any announcement there might be.  Especially if we can take advantage of cheap airfares to the destination city.

I received an email today for CiviCon in Sydney next February.  Looks very reasonable too.

I'll be doing my best to make it there.

Yes, please come and make the first CiviCon Downunder a success so that we can make it an annual tradition.

For those who haven't been to one before CiviCon's are a great event. This will be the first 2 day one which I think is really exciting because it give you a lot more time to talk about what you have seen at CiviCon and to talk about what you are doing.
Make today the day you step up to support CiviCRM and all the amazing organisations that are using it to improve our world - http://civicrm.org/contribute
