problems and errors by using search applications

We have fatal problems concerning the CiviSearch applications. By using the include/exclude search it is not possible to add the contacts in a new or existing group. If I mark just one contact or all contacts, it is not added in the group.
If I build a new dynamic group, I get this error warning:

We suspect that the problem might be linked to our last update to CiviCRM 4.2.0, as before the search applications was working properly. If someone has a similar problem or anyone has a hint for us, we would be grateful.

Hi Kurund!
Thank you for your fast response. I checked the CiviSearch applications in the demo version, not surprisingly it’s working there.  Any further idea how to localize and to solve this peculiar problem? Even the guy who’s administrating our CiviCRM runs out of ideas as he gets no error message. So right now we just can’t use Civi properly…

I don't follow your last post. Are you able to reproduce this error? If so, then why can't your CiviCRM administrator reproduce it?

hey freya:

what version of civicrm are you on? if 4.2.0 or 4.2.1, there were a few errors in the inc/exc search. most of them have been fixed for 4.2.2 and a few more have been fixed in 4.2.3 (which is not yet released)

I've tried the upgrade but ran into an error. I've hooked up in another thread (http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,26432.0.html) where someone else seems to have the same problem.
