I am looking at CiviCRM as a Golf Club membership system. Has anyone any thoughts on this?

You would need to flesh out how the membership system needs to work to get any useful comments - golf membership - croquet membership - bowls membership - it doesn't so much matter the sport as the membership processes. Suggest you read the chapter on Memberships in the book (see header).

For the basic membership aspect, CiviCRM is very good and other such clubs/associations are using CiviCRM for that. As Peter alludes, there may be other data you want to store however.

We use it for a rowing club membership system.

Depends what you want to do with the membership other than take their membership fee remember who they are.
